Joseph David Langell, 26, of Canton passed away suddenly on November 17, 2020. Joseph was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, the first of two boys born to Pamela & David Langell.

He was raised in Canton, attending Plymouth-Canton Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 2012. After high school Joseph completed his Associate of Science from Schoolcraft College in 2015. He was currently working at the Amazon Distribution Center in Romulus and had previously worked for Toll Brothers Construction and Carrabba's Italian Grill in Canton.

Joseph enjoyed hanging out with his friends, bowling, keeping his and his Dad's trucks spotless. Joseph was always ready to selflessly lend a helping hand to everyone; his neighbors, family and friends. Joseph loved to be outside working using his hands, rather than being indoors. "He was a kind and gentle soul," his family said.

Joseph is survived by his parents, Pamela (nee: Wilski) and David Langell; his younger brother, Mitchell Langell and his "Little Buddy" Corky, the family Shetland Sheepdog. Joseph is also survived by his three aunts, Barbara (Mitchell) Mendrygal, Patricia Hanus and Patrice (Bruce) Moore; nine cousins and numerous friends. In addition to his grandparents, Joseph was pre-deceased by his uncle, Michael Langell.

Family and Friends may visit on Monday evening, November 23, 2020 at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church 36075 West Seven Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. There will be a Panikhida Service at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday morning, November 24, 2020 visitation continues at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church. Following the funeral, the procession will continue to Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia for Joseph to be laid to rest.

David, Pam, and Mitchell,

I am very very sorry to hear of Joseph's passing. My heart is breaking for all of you. I have so many fond memories of Joseph as a little boy. My boys and I enjoyed so many evenings with your family- eating dinner together and watching the boys play outside. May you feel God's love and comfort during this time of such grief and loss.

Dear Dave, Pam, and Mitchell

We are so saddened to hear about Joseph. He was a genuine soul who was always willing to help us in our yard or to just pause and have a nice conversation with us on our walks. We will all miss talking to Joseph. Every now and then he would smile and there would be a knowing look and twinkle in his eyes. His sincerity and kindness will be missed dearly.

Love,
Joby, Rani, Natalie, and Gaby

Dear Dave, Pam, and Mitchell,

I have great memories of Joseph. Joseph, the boyfriend, Joseph, the college student, and Joseph the church school and youth group member. Every memory I have, regardless of where it was, he was smiling.

He made my daughter happy for the time they were together. For that, I am always grateful. He was an earnest and diligent college student and it was my pleasure advising him while he was at Schoolcraft. As a church school and youth group member, he was always engaging and made others smile and laugh.

There are no words I can give you to ease your suffering and I can't imagine the pain you're going through. I pray for your peace.

May his memory be eternal.

Joe was an amazing person. He was always in such good spirits, always smiling, and was always willing to help anyone out. He had very good work ethic, the kid worked his butt off. I am going to miss picking on him at work. Amazon lost a very good worker and the Dock Team/Family won't be the same without him.

My deepest condolences for the family

Joseph will be missed. He was a very kind and helpful young man. I know his family has many great memories. He also could tell you anything you wanted to know about Ford trucks.

Joseph was a very nice person . I always found him smiling, and helping lots of neighbors including us with different type of chores. I believe his big heart and personality were contagious and he was an inspiration to everyone around him. May he Rest In Peace.

While no words can express the pain that you must be going through, we are sending our prayers and wish you are able to find strength during this dark time.
