Joseph is survived by daughters Annette Tan (Pedro) and Christine Morabito (Michael), his grandchildren Josephine and Emilia Morabito and Dalia and Peter Tan as well as siblings George, Siham, Nadira, and Najwa. Joseph was preceded in death by parents Shukri and Mariam, spouses Josephine followed by Rita, and siblings Elias, Fouad, and Usra.
Remembered as a loving husband and father, to many, he was the epitome of the American dream. Joseph was born September 10, 1938 in Jerusalem, Palestine. In 1961, he arrived in the United States with $800 in his pocket in order to further his education. After graduation from the University of Detroit with a degree in finance, he worked in International Sales for Ford Motor Company where he traveled the world. When he was home, he loved to garden and was known for his hospitality. If you were hungry, he would feed you. If you weren’t hungry, he would still feed you. He is survived by his nieces and nephews and was an “Uncle Joe” to many. He loved his siblings cared about their well being. The true lights of his life were his four grandchildren, he was happy when they were happy. He will be missed very much.
