Josephine Rose Tobia, lovingly known as “Jo Jo,” was born on September 9, 1923, in Medford, Massachusetts, to her parents, John and Concetta Amorosa. Jo Jo passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, at the remarkable age of 103.
Jo Jo was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Frank Tobia, who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by her loving niece, Emily Radina of Oakland County and relations in New England.
A longtime resident of Commerce Township, Jo Jo lived a life filled with warmth, grace, and a love for connecting with others. She was her husband’s devoted travel companion, and together they enjoyed visiting Los Angeles and Chicago, making memories along the way. A talented ballroom dance instructor, Jo Jo shared her love of dance with others and brought elegance and joy to those around her.
Jo Jo was known for being a gracious host, always quick with a smile, and truly a pleasure to meet. Her warmth, charm, and welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152. Jo Jo will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Jo Jo’s honor.
