Josephine A. Walker was born February 28, 1925 and peacefully passed away on April 1, 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late James Walker. Loving mother of James (Susan) Walker Jr., Anona (Steve) Pflanz, the late John (Sandy) Walker, the late Dennis Walker, Richard (Glenna) Walker, the late Denise (Harold) Lively, the late David Walker, Raymond (Laura) Walker, Mary (Don) Bonner, Kevin Walker, Brian (Kim) Walker and Curt (Carey) Walker. Cherished grandmother of 23, great grandmother of 31 and great-great grandmother of 2. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents Ovie and Lambert Bourassa and siblings Ruth, Violet, Amelia and Ray.

Josephine, also known as "Jo", married the love of her life, James, and was married for 67 years. They were like two peas in a pod and were often seen holding hands. Together they raised their twelve children. She loved being a mother but also enjoyed her career as a nurse at various hospitals over the years. She was a longtime member of St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia, Michigan for 35+ years. She was always very social and loved getting her family together for their family reunions so she could make her famous potato salad and was also known for her chili. While raising her children she found her love for poetry. It was her "get away" and she was so proud when one of her poems was published in Book of Poems. In her later years, Jo enjoyed playing Bingo or Solitaire with her friends and family. Josephine will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

They say a mother's greatest joy is her child.... imagine the magnitude of her joy with 12 kids. Then there is the scale of success to consider...on a scale of 1 to 10? 12! Such a huge family tree like none other really....all rooted and nutured by your loving mother. Her best will certainly live on by and through all of you... .

What an amazing person we were all lucky enough to be touched by...my mom was so affectionate and genuine, I truly hope I can carry some of that beautiful and loving spirit with me as I continue my journey of life. Honestly, in all the conversations I had with my loving mother, she was truly curious and never seemed to view life with a negative approach. I will always carry her in my heart and smile everyday knowing she has and will be a big part of who I am!

My 3 living grandparents were all very involved in my life, despite having LOTS of other grand children. I feel very lucky to have had them all. Grandma Jo was such an amazing and loving person. I'm gonna miss her.

To my mom for over 64 years of my life. I will always keep you close to my heart. The memory we shared as a son to mom and mom to son will always stay with me. You did promise me that you would be with us until you turn 100 so your April fool joke wasn’t expecting to happen. But we did talk and it was time and I can say thank you for all the joy and happiness you gave me and our family during your time with us.
God Bless you Mom.
Oh ya Dad run mom is on her way. 🤣
Love son #8 Raymond J.

Josephine and I would share stories of our families and friends while we take a stroll at Angel Gardens. I appreciated the time we were able to spend together. She will be greatly missed here by me for sure.
