Judith G. Forbing, age 79, of Livonia, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her three loving children: Lynette (Mike) Pohlman, Cheryl (Laurie) Doughty, and Scott (Simbiriam) Forbing; her seven grandchildren: Misty Hassy, Jennifer Discher, Brandon Swider, Nathan Mobley, Brandy Mobley, Alex Forbing, and Leah Forbing; her eleven great-grandchildren; and two of her sisters: Jewell Covert, and Bonnie Darga.
Judy was born July 7, 1944, in Thorpe, West Virginia, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hurley and Geneva (Klobas) Mitchem. After graduating from Plymouth High School, Judy devoted much of her professional life to a career in banking; most recently, she retired from Chase Bank after many years of service. When Judy met her husband, Seymour E. Forbing through family many years ago, there was in instant connection; Judy and Seymour were eventually married in 1961, sharing sixty-one wonderful years together until Seymour’s passing on December 10, 2022. Judy was a parishioner at St. Priscilla Catholic Church for many years, and she enjoyed the memories made while playing the bells there.
In her free time, Judy could always be found working on one of her many crocheting projects. She also loved the time she spent going for walks or to exercise classes with her girlfriends; and she loved going on cruises and casino trips! Most of all, Judy cherished the time she spent with her family; particularly with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she loved so dearly. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Hurley and Geneva; her husband, Seymour E. Forbing; and her two siblings: Beverly McNulty, and Darold Mitchem.
A Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Judy’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm. Pastor Russ Dennis will officiate. In accordance with Judy’s wishes, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider contributions in Judy’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
