After graduating from Mackenzie High School in Detroit, June attended Wayne State University. She played flute in the band where she met her husband, Alan. She was also a member of the Delta Omicron Sorority. After her daughters were grown, her love of music guided her to teach music, as a substitute music teacher and piano teacher. She even gave piano lessons to her current pastor, Rev. Timothy Halboth of Grace Lutheran Church. She also worked for several years in the Registrar's Office at WSU. When she wasn't teaching music, working at WSU, volunteering at church, traveling the world with her husband, and indulging her great love of animals, June loved to be at home, caring for her family. She had a wonderful eye for design and decorating, and was always well dressed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Grace Lutheran Church or Michigan Humane Society.
