Kay Elizabeth Gestro (Shanahan), age 72, of Livonia, Michigan passed away on Monday May 7, 2018. Kay was born October 18, 1945 to the late Ignatius and Irene. Beloved wife of Edward for 53 wonderful years. Loving mother of Edward A. (Lisa), and Karyn (Romeo) Pasqualitto. Cherished grandmother of Connor, Logan, Sofia, and Dominic. Dearest sister of Tom and Tim Shanahan.
Kay served her community as she volunteered with FISH by giving rides for those in need. She was very involved grandmother, whether it was attending school/sporting events, picking her grandchildren up from school, or just playing doctor when someone was ill. Kay enjoyed traveling, reading, and taking trips to her favorite casinos. She was remarkable and will truly be missed by all those who knew her.
A visitation for Kay will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 1pm-8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. A funeral mass will occur Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:30am (in-state at 10am) at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48154. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Kay's name to the American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
