Larry was the cherished husband of Barbara Marshall. He was the loving Dad of Sandra Fitzgerald and Donna Hager, and the proud Papa of Liam and Conor Fitzgerald, who brought him so much joy. Larry was the dear brother of David Marshall. Larry is also survived by his loyal fur babies, Shelby and Gidget, who always held a very special place in his heart. Their companionship meant the world to him, and they were never far from his side or his lap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Violet Marshall, and his sister-in-law, Kathy Marshall.
Larry had a lifelong love of cars and motorcycles. He was especially proud to be a founding member of the Detroit Area Mopar Muscle (DAMM), where he enjoyed sharing his passion with others who loved classic cars as much as he did. Larry didn’t just admire vehicles—he loved working on them, fixing them up, and learning everything he could about them. At one time, he even owned a muscle car of his own, a 1972 Cuda, which perfectly matched his appreciation for power, craftsmanship, and classic style.
While Larry enjoyed his hotrods and had the need for speed, what meant the most to him was time spent with his family and friends. Whether sharing stories, spending time together, or simply enjoying one another’s company, those moments were what he treasured most.
Larry will be remembered for his passion, his love for the things that brought him joy, and the deep love he had for his family and those closest to him. He leaves behind many memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree or making donation to an animal welfare group such as your local Humane Society in Larry’s memory, something Larry surely would have appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 16, at Hines Park – Merriman Hollow, beginning at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Larry’s life together.
