Bill was the loving husband of Nancie for 60 years. Cherished father of Sharon, Mary Beth (Stan) Niescier and Bill (Kim). Devoted grandfather of Kaitlyn, Ally, Tori, Krystyn, Olivia and Karina.
Bill served as an MP in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. His valiant service earned him a Bronze Star during the Korean War and was featured in the book "Portraits of Service".
Following his time in the Army, he was an established financial adviser in the Plymouth area for 50 years. An avid outdoors man, in his free time Bill enjoyed spending his weekends in Houghton Lake where he enjoyed hunting and boating with his granddaughters.
Bill was also passionate about giving back to his community through youth hockey programs. For 30 years he coached hockey and was a former President of the Tricounty Hockey League.
The Williams family will receive friends on Sunday May 5, 2013 from 4-8 pm and on Monday May 6, 2013 from 3-9 pm with a Rosary Service at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
Bill will lie in state on Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 10:30 am until the time of his Funeral Mass 11 am at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Rd. (just south of Five Mile Rd) in Livonia.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
