Lois Ann Bass, age 78, of Livonia, Michigan returned to her heavenly home on October 18, 2018. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her throughout her life and gave her peace. Lois was born March 5, 1940, in Plymouth, Michigan to Mary and George Adams, who raised her faithfully and cultivated her love for Christ.
Lois graduated, a year early, from Plymouth High School when it was located downtown. When Lois was 16 years old she was asked to be Miss Plymouth, but her father did not approve. Lois enjoyed playing the piano and sharing her love of music to anyone who was interested. In her adolescence, she played the piano and was a member of the choir at Calvary Baptist Church when it was located downtown Plymouth. She also sang "Jesus Loves Me", even in Spanish, to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to help them sleep. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, rocking babies to sleep, and sharing her love for Christ. Lois was passionate about gardening which included growing tomatoes to eat fresh off of the vine and planting new flowers each spring. Lois was an excellent cook, cooking many meals from scratch and replicating dishes she tasted at restaurants. She passed this love onto her daughters and granddaughters. Blue was her favorite color; from blue glass birds to blue and white Chinese print collectibles. Lois had an amazing ceramic bird collection that was showcased in an oak hutch for everyone to see. She took great pride having a tidy home and keeping it decorated to the nines.
Lois is survived by; daughter Rhonda (Tony) Dattilio; son Randy Severson; son Russ (Annette) Severson; and daughter Renee (Charlie) Gilmore; brother Tom (Maggie) Adams; grandchildren Tony (Jenny) Dattilio, Justin (Sarah) Dattilio, Christopher (Nicole) Severson, Derek Severson, Kelly (Garrett) Collins and Katie (Matthew) Newby; great-grandchildren Carter, Micah, Evelyn, Calvin, Drake, Dylan, Dax, and Delila Dattilio, Colton and Wyatt Severson, Noah, Abel, and Emelia Collins. Lois was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Jeanette Bergman, and brother Don Adams.
