Lois Houston Boccarossa

Lois Houston, age 96 of Livonia passed away August 29, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Boccarossa. Loving mother of James (Shirley) Frost, Bob (Mary) Frost, the late Lou Alice (Jim) Sheets, Jeanette Gordon, Mario (Dolores) Boccarossa, Lillian Wallace, Pat (Gary) Crum and Rhonda (Ben) Hargrove. Proud grandmother of many wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lois was born in Swifton, Arkansas on July 12, 1917, the 8th child of Charles and Alice Houston. She was an active member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, serving on the Worship Committee and as a member of the United Methodist Women. While living in Marianna, Arkansas she was proud to have opened Lois’ Department Store. Lois enjoyed vacationing, especially to her second home on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Lois was well known for her Christmas Eve parties, often hosting up to 60 people. The same traditions were carried out each year, including circling up for a prayer and the meal, which was always the same. Visitation Friday, September 6th from 2-8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia. In State 9:30am Saturday, September 7th with 10:30am Funeral Service at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 30900 Six Mile Rd., Livonia. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
