Lorenzo Balbo Amico

Loving husband of Shirley for 65 years. Beloved father of Theamarie (Frank) Passanante and Michael. Proud grandfather of Thomas, Nicholas, and kinship grandparent of Mikhail Abad. Dear brother of Joseph (Margaret).

He was an Italian American born to immigrants from Sicily, Italy. He was proud of his heritage.

After graduating from Coolie High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon returning from Europe, he enrolled in Wayne State University before accepting a position with Standard Oil Company.

He was extremely patriotic and philanthropic, with charitable contributions extending from the NRA to veterans and wounded warriors. His demeanor was likable and affable with friends spanning the globe.

Larry was kind and strong-minded. He believed in rules, values, and accountability. He was genuine and strong and loved with a purpose and a moral compass.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. An in state will occur Monday, September 22, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 AM, where he will be receiving military honors.
