Margaret Ann Garrett

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Wayne Garrett, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with love, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories. Margaret was a devoted wife and caregiver to Wayne for 20 years, caring for him with extraordinary love, patience, and dedication until his passing in February 2026.

She was the loving mother of Michael (Lisa) Garrett, Michelle (Tim) Sellers, and Melina (Anthony) Holyszko. She was a cherished grandmother to Megan (Nick) Walters, Matthew (Keyra) Garrett, Hunter (Lindsey) Sellers, Gage Sellers, Austin Holyszko, and Alec Holyszko, and a proud great-grandmother to Charles, Victoria, Lincoln, Theodore, Evelyn, Adalyn, and Avery.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Ocie Bolling, and her siblings, Wendell Bolling, Glen Bolling, Don Bolling, Bob Bolling, Jim Bolling, Rick Bolling, Betty Carter, and Alma Lou Carter.

Margaret was a longtime and active member of Newburg United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed helping with the annual rummage sale and being part of her church community. She loved trivia and playing double-deck pinochle, and she especially enjoyed relaxing at the lake and spending time with her family. Some of her happiest memories were made at the cottage, surrounded by the people she loved and enjoying the simple pleasures of time together.

Family was always at the heart of Margaret’s life. She treasured every opportunity to gather with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow. Her caring and devoted nature was felt most deeply by those closest to her. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved, especially during the 20 years she lovingly cared for Wayne.

Margaret worked at Kmart Regional Headquarters for approximately 15 years and also spent many years working at the Henry Ford Museum. She was hardworking and dedicated throughout her career and built many lasting friendships along the way.

Margaret’s greatest legacy is the love she gave to her family. Her strength, kindness, devotion, laughter, and the countless memories she created with those she loved will remain in their hearts forever. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

Funeral In State will be held at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, MI 48150, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m.
