OBITUARY

Maria J. Betrus

September 11, 1968January 7, 2019

Maria (Odeh) Betrus, age 50, fell asleep in our Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019. A loving, caring, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, niece, and cousin. From her birth on September 11, 1968, Maria was a free spirited, nurturing soul.

Her smile, laughter, and heart of gold shined bright on everyone who crossed her path. She had a generous gift of unconditional love that even a stranger was blessed with. Family was Maria's priority and everyone who she called friend, she called family.

She is survived by, husband Mike Betrus; children, Derek, Chuck(Shannon), and Brittany; grandchildren, Madison, Haley, and Annabella; mother, Nuha (the late Judeh) Odeh; brothers, Charlie (Tane), Christopher, Frank (Tammy), and her nephew Judeh and niece Gabriella.

May her memory be eternal.

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting And I know she's smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me

My Mom was Maria’s 4th grade teacher. Even then Maria’s kind and generous spirit was evident in all she did. I met her in junior high and even had her in classes at UM-D. She touched everyone whom she ever met, and no-one was ever a stranger. Thank you for your friendship! My whole familiy’s heartfelt condolences to Maria’s Family.

The first time I met Maria was through Mike and Kevin (Meyer) a few of years ago.
We hit it off right away. She was hilarious, beautiful and fun to hang out with! I wish I could have gotten to know her better.
Even though I only saw her a few times, I could tell she had a heart of gold and I'm sure we would have been great friends.
We are sorry to all of you for the loss of such a lovely person!

Maria was always fun to be around. She never had a mean or hurtful word towards anyone. I always knew her in High School as Charlie's Little Sister, but out of School we played on a Softball team together. There I really got to know Maria, and spend time after the games just hanging out and always enjoyed my times with her. Since those days we had both gotten married, and had children. Myself and my Wife would run into Maria once or twice a year, but it would always feel like we had just saw each other the day before. Maria was just a pleasure to be around and will be deeply missed.
My Sincere Condolences to the entire Family and Friends..Thomas Roe, Jr.

The times we went swimming together in your pool, late night talks on the porch, our Dairy Queen runs with Derek, you are amazing. And I love you! You will be dearly missed by everyone. I’ll see you again

We are going to miss Maria’s crazy sense of humor and beautiful, kind and loving heart.

Together with my two daughters, Maria and Derek, we had lots of fun going to the movies on the weekends, when they were in school at St. Raphael. We always had so much fun laughing and talking together.

Rest In Peace, We will never forget you.
