Marie Vert, born on May 7, 1924, passed away on February 17, 2024. Her journey began alongside her twin brother, born just a few minutes apart. At the tender age of six, Marie's life took a turn, and she, along with her siblings, was raised by their devoted mother after the untimely death of their father. Marie's life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family. Her heart was open to every new family member, and the arrival of each grandchild brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Marie had a passion for games, especially playing cards with her grandchildren and engaging in friendly competitions with her siblings and extended family. Her warm and welcoming personality had an extraordinary ability to put people at ease, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to meet her.
Traveling held a special place in Marie's heart, and she explored various destinations, including the outer banks of North Carolina, Florida, Atlantic City, Maine, and Colorado. Her adventurous spirit embraced new experiences and created cherished memories for herself and her loved ones.
A true master baker, Marie's kitchen was filled with the delightful aroma of Christmas cookies. She shared this tradition with her grandchildren, creating a sweet bond over the years. Among her many baking creations, her Congo bars were a family favorite. Marie found joy in the lively atmosphere of Las Vegas during her girls' trips. The laughter, the excitement of gambling, and the vibrant cityscape brought her immense happiness. Additionally, Marie was a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, supporting her team with passion and pride.
Left to cherish her memory are her four loving children: Larry (Karen) Vert, Dave (Penny) Vert, James (Wilma) Vert, Ricky (Christine) Vert, along with seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Marie's legacy of love, warmth, and joyful moments will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
