Mary M. Fancil, 72, passed away suddenly on October 26, 2020. Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 28, 1947, the middle daughter of three, born to Frederick & Ruby Goudie. She graduated from Redford High School in 1965. Shortly after high school Mary attended cosmetology school and then married Carl Fancil on September 6, 1967 in Danville, Illinois. Together they raised two daughters. Mary was a member of Canton Summit where she exercised. With her family she enjoyed camping at Proud Lake Recreation Area and Greenwood Acres at Grass Lake, Michigan. Bird watching was a special activity Mary enjoyed. Every September she and Carl would meet Navy veterans that had served on the USS Sphinx ARL-24, in Branson, Missouri. Mary was very good at crocheting and sewing. Most of all, Mary enjoyed her time spent with family and her four grandchildren. Mary's favorite breed of dog was a miniature pinscher. The family had 3 "min-pins", Cocoa, Charlie and Ginger.
Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl; daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Maier; grandchildren, Carl J. Maier, Lucas Davanzo, Kaleigh Davanzo and Danica Davanzo; son-in-law, Steve Davanzo; and sister, Kathy (Bob) Marshall. Mary will be missed by her nieces and nephew who also survive.
In addition to her parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her daughter, Beth Davanzo; and sister, Alice Schmidt.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
