Dearest Mother of Joanne, Rosemary (the late Adam), Eugene, and Laura (Jim). Sweetest Grandmother of Suzanne (Mike), Lisa (Ed), Jeff (Shannon), Kimberly (Robert), David (Kim), Paul, Vincent, Angela, Jeffrey, Jason, Christopher (Danielle). Unbelievable Great-Grandmother of Jared, Kayla, Anthony, Nina, Emily, Justin, Marco and Reagan.
Mary was born in Davenport, New York on September 16, 1922 to Louis and Rose Gallucci. She is preceded in death by her brothers Frank and Dick Gallucci and her sister Dorthea Siedlik.
Mary was the matriarch of the family, always concerned about her children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved being with her family and always loved to share their everyday experiences.
She loved to cook and was retired from Fordson High School as the Head Baker.
She loved reading and would spend many hours reading books that were brought to her by granddaughters or when possible being taken to the library to pick out her own books. She spent many hours crocheting, and up until a couple of years before her death, she was the seamstress of the family. She was always willing to do some patchwork when ever needed. "Just bring it to Mama Mary, she'll fix it"
She took care of her late husband Sam for 78 years with a loving relationship beyond words can describe. They were truly two in one.
Mary loved to play cards with her grandchildren. She loved when her family was all together, especially when it was to help her bake biscotti or can tomatoes.
She also had an amazing memory. Every time we needed the name of a movie or an actor, or if it was a baking or crocheting question, or even how to spell a word, we would call Mom, because she always had the answers.
She enjoyed sitting outside and talking to all the neighbors, and waving to all the cars that passed by, even if she didn't know who they were.
Right up to her passing, she was always determined to try to do things herself. Always saying "I have to try to di it" even though she knew she was unable to.
She was very strong willed.
Our family will never quite be the same without her. She and all the other wonderful family members we have lost are now at peace.
Mom, Mama Mary, Nani, Grandma, are all the names she was called. She will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace.
