Matthew, fondly remembered by many as "Mattie" or "Junior" was born to Matthew and Stella Monendo on August 23rd, 1932. He had an older sister, Betty Jean Nelipovich, whom he cherished dearly.
In September 1955, Mattie married the love of his life, Betty (Elizabeth) Muha. Their life was full of family, friends, and fun. Having five children Michelle, Marie, Matthew III, Mark, and Joseph, the life he had was very busy and he loved every minute of his family. Matt's children were very active in sports and music, so he went from hockey rinks to band recitals consistently and never seemed to miss a thing.
In his free time he loved to golf with his friends and later in life his family was included.
Matt and Betty were married almost 49 ¾ years when Betty died following a battle with cancer.
Matt is survived by his children Marie, Matt, Mark (Kathy) and Joe (Michelle), 4 grandchildren Miranda, Matthew, Samantha, and Dominic, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Matt and Stella, his sister Betty, his daughter Michelle, and many loved brother-in laws and sister-in laws.
The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10am, with in state beginning at 9am at St. Priscilla Catholic Church, Livonia.
