Happy Birthday dear sister….we miss you❤️

I found this photo while helping to pack up your life, and now it’s part of mine. You look so young, happy, and carefree—and that's how I remember you. I love you always.

Missing you today and always dear sister….

Meta was the kind of person you could count on for advice, an encyclopedic knowledge of home remedies, a good story, an ear to listen, and genealogy/research skills that would rival the FBI. She’d always be the first person to volunteer to help, and “not my job” was never in her vocabulary.

Whether it was playing slots at Caesars Windsor, organizing Masterpiece Theatre watch parties on our lunch hour, indulging us with stories about the old Detroit neighborhood she grew up in, or helping us pull off the occasional office prank, you knew it was never going to be a dull time with Meta. 

She was the glue that held our L&D family together, the unofficial matriarch of this motley bunch… I’ll miss her telling me I’m a “rabblerouser,” but also a “good egg.” She always saw the best in us, and I’ll be forever grateful we crossed paths for a while.

Meta was a good friend to me and welcomed me when I transferred to Michigan.   All of us at AAA ACG relied on Meta's kindness to help us get the job done.
 Family was very important to Meta.  She loved her family and would always share stories about all of you.  
I will miss her friendship, our many chats, but mostly I will miss her smile.

My very deepest sympathy, to Wendy, Michael & Beth, Sally & Chuck, at this very sad time.  You are in my thoughts.

Meta & I were 3rd cousins who first got in contact over twenty years ago through our interest in genealogy, sharing our Rakestraw family history. Sadly we never got to meet in person, but I still considered her one of my dearest friends.  A lovely lady, she was so proud of her daughter Wendy & all she has achieved.  I know Meta was the kind of person who would do anything for her family & friends, and many people will miss her greatly, myself included.

Meta was one of a kind. She always made time for you, no matter what. It was always a pleasure to stop by her desk which we sometimes referred to it as the water cooler because everyone gathered there!!  She often spoke of her daughter and how proud she was.  She will be missed. 

Meta often had Jack and Lily spend the night. They stayed up late, ate non-parental approved snacks and did craft projects. They both loved spending times with “Aunt Meta”

Meta loved spending time with Lily, sewing doll clothes and acting silly.

Missing you everyday. I wish there were cell phones in heaven❤️

I am so sorry to learn of Meta's passing.  I worked with her at AAA and she always had warm welcomes and cheerful conversation when I visited our HQ office.  She was so good to our team members.  My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

With deepest condolences. I was fortunate to work with Meta for her last couple of years at AAA Auto Club Group. She was filled with kindness and a pleasure to work with.  Wishing Peace to the family.

The day we bought matching sweatshirts, had a BBQ, and enjoyed so many funny stories on the front porch.
