He was born on November 5, 1938, in Beit Sahour, West Bank, State of Palestine, to Saba and Aziza (Awwad) Khoury.
Michael married his first wife, Rose, in 1960. Although their marriage was brief and their paths eventually went in different directions, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Miriam, who brought great joy to Michael’s life.
On March 23, 1963, Michael married the love of his life, Karla Killingbeck. From that day forward, Michael and Karla built a beautiful life together, sharing decades of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their enduring love and devotion to one another remained and will always be remembered.
Michael was a successful entrepreneur and longtime business owner. He was the owner of the Village Kitchen in Angola, Indiana, as well as several other business ventures throughout his career.
He was a member of Fairview Missionary Church in Angola and St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Basilica in Livonia. His faith was an important part of his life.
Michael’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great pride in being a part of each of their lives. His love, generosity, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Michael is survived by his children, Miriam “Mimi” (Ghassan) Khoury of Elko, Nevada; Krystal (Gabriel) Bannoura of South Lyon, Michigan; and Anthony “Tony” (Desiree) Isa of Angola, Indiana; his 10 beloved grandchildren, Tamara (Jamil), Amanie (Nicola), Jamil (Nadeen), Tony, Andrew (Hiba), Nicholas (Shems), Jordan (Drew), Anthony Jr., Karla, and Luke; and his 13 precious great-grandchildren. Siblings; Qustandi Khoury, Nasri Khoury, Dalal Bannoura, Mariam Abu Aita, Baha Qumsieh, & Kareem Khoury.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Karla, and his brother, Nakhleh Khoury.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St Mary Antiochian Orthodox Basilica, 18200 Merriman Road, Livonia, MI 48152, with trisagion prayers at 7:30 pm.
He will lie in state at the church on Friday, September 4, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral liturgy beginning at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
