Born on October 29, 1949, in Berkley, Michigan, Michele was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Dorsz) Tobin. She was one of eight children and was especially close to her late twin brother, Patrick. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Terri and Mark.
Michele met the love of her life, Paul Kersanty, in high school. The two were married on May 21, 1971, beginning a lifelong journey of love, faith, and family. Together, they raised three children: Micheal Kersanty, Brian (Lara) Kersanty, and Erin (Kevin) Covert, who carry forward her legacy of warmth and resilience.
Before dedicating herself fully to her family as a stay-at-home mom, Michele worked as a pharmacy technician in Detroit for fifteen years, where her compassion and attention to detail made her a valued part of the healthcare community.
Michele’s life was rooted in her strong Catholic faith, which guided her in both joyful and difficult times. She was a nurturing presence to her grandchildren—Ava, Valerie, and Phallon—whom she cherished beyond words. Her happiest moments were those spent in their laughter and company.
She is also survived by her loving siblings Jeanie, Mary, Ann, and Gerard, who shared in a lifetime of memories, family traditions, and support.
Michele found joy in life’s simple pleasures—quiet mornings, time with her grandkids, and the comforting companionship of her beloved cat, Charlie.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington, Michigan 48336.
