Mitri C. Bibi



Mitri is survived by his older siblings, Nadim and Nadima. He was a devoted and proud father to Rosemarie, Linda, and Joseph, and a caring grandfather to Rosario and Cristiano Marino. He was the beloved husband of Blanca Estella Somoza and step-father to Brenda, Verónica, and Tatiana.

Mitri was born in Panama and eventually moved with his cherished mother, Maria to El Salvador where he would first meet his adored, Estella.

Mitri later arrived at the age of 31 to Michigan by the sponsorship of his siblings. This is when he met and married his sweet (the late) Angale in 1979 and became a beloved member of the Haddad family who would help him pursue a career at General Motors, where he dedicated 30 loyal years of labor. Following his retirement he returned to El Salvador where he vacationed annually and reconnected with Estella whom he happily wed in 2015.

Mitri’s passions were his family, his work, and cinema. He embraced life with an enthusiasm for dancing, laughing, and traveling. He was always eager to share in the joy of storytelling. He will be dearly missed by all of us.

A visitation for Mitri will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church, 15585 Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 PM.

On Friday, October 25, 2024, a funeral service will begin with Mitri lying in state from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 12:00 PM, also at Metropolitan Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Mitri will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt Road, Livonia, MI 48152 beside his parents and nephew, Victor.

In honor of Mitri’s memory, flowers may be delivered to Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church between Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, and any donations can be sent directly to funeral home where family can receive.
