Nahida Odeh Farhat, 73, of Plymouth, Michigan passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. Farhat was born on March 20, 1946 in Ramallah, Jordan to Odeh and Bahia (nee: Ghannam) Zarou, the first-born of their six children. In the late fifties she moved with her family to the Detroit area. She met and married Jimmy S. Farhat and they started their family of four children. As a mother she was hardworking, loving and devoted to her children & husband. Nahida was the life of all parties and gatherings. She shared her wit and friendliness in such a manner as that all attending wanted to talk and laugh with her. No one could keep her from the dance floor. She was known to lead the "Dabke" and the traditional "Zagharit". Always the last one off of the dance floor. As "Sity" to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, she spoiled them all. Being a phenomenal cook, sharing her gift for food and hospitality were always important to Nahida.
Mrs. Farhat is survived by her mother, Mrs. Bahia Zarou; children, Linda (Joe) Rizqallah, Suzanne (Robert) Zabowski, Sami (Maryann) Farhat, Rami (Shelly) Farhat; sisters, Rima Aneed, Violet Aneed, Badyeh Aneed; and brother, Sam Zarou.
