Nancy Lee Raden, (nee: McCloskey) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 30, 2019. She was 79 years old. We know that our loss is hard, but that heaven has welcomed and gained a beautiful angel that no words (written here) could ever express how joyful that must be.
Nancy was born on February 22, 1939 to Chester and Eva McCloskey in Detroit, Michigan. She was the youngest one of five children: Chester, (“Sonny”), Dolores, Robert, and Barbara. Nancy was married at age 18 to Mervyn Raden on June 9, 1957. They were together over 52 years before his passing on April 23, 2009.
She was known and called “Mom” and “Grandma” by many besides her own children. Nancy loved cooking (recipes that can never be duplicated), Yahtzee, Bingo, VFW, Masons, (cooking for all) and particularly liked watching crime shows on television.
Nancy is survived by her four sons: Randy (Tressa) Raden, Larry (Beth) Raden, Robert (Gretchen) Raden, and Brian (Michelle) Raden; nine grandchildren: Ryan (Lacey) Raden, Corey (Liz) Raden, Cooper Raden, Brian Raden, Lauren Raden, Jordan (Brent Brown) Clark, Jessica (Alex) Drew, Morgan Clark and Brendan Raden; seven great-grandchildren: Spencer, Brendon, Gryffin, Zachary, Riley, Finley, and Layla; brother: Chester “Sonny” (Katie) McCloskey; sister: Dolores (the late Stanley) Dreffs. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert and her sister, Barbara. Nancy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She also had wonderful friends that she loved to spoil with her homemade stuffed cabbage and pierogi’s.
A Celebration of Mrs. Raden’s life will be held in the Atrium at The Inn at St. John’s 44045 Five Mile Road, Plymouth, Michigan 48170 on Sunday – February 10, 2019 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Floral arrangements may be sent to the above address in care of: "Celebration of Life - Nancy Raden".
