Nolan Karlson

Nolan Karlson, age 34, of Livonia, MI, passed away November 8, 2019 in Grand Rapids, MI where he resided since 2016. Nolan was born in Ft. Wayne, IN February 27, 1985. His family moved to Livonia, MI in 1990. He attended Livonia Public Schools ~ Hoover Elementary, Holmes Middle School and graduated from Stevenson High School in 2004. He received an Associate’s Degree from Schoolcraft College in 2007 and did undergraduate work at Eastern Michigan University in psychology and business management. Nolan worked at Hiller's, Home Depot, Speedway, Notions Warehouse Distribution Center and Salvation Army.

Nolan is the beloved son of Cathleen (Hogan) Karlson of Livonia, MI. He is also the son of David Karlson and wife, Sheila from Houghton Lake, MI. He is the brother of Erin Karlson of Novi, MI. He is the loving nephew of Cheryl (Hogan) and Paul Coffey from Robbinsville, NJ.

Nolan is also survived by his uncle Tim Karlson of Brighton, MI and aunt Debbie (Karlson) Curbey of Saginaw.

Nolan will always be remembered by many for his kindness towards others. He was thoughtful, caring, and in spite of his own pain and suffering, always reached out to help those in need.

If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a special place no one can ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone ~ for a part of me went with you the day God took you home.

Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. (An Irish blessing).

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Nolan on his birthday

February 27, 2020.
