Orval Chambers

Orval Chambers was born September 24, 1925 in Lincoln County, Kentucky to his parents, Samuel and Ethel Chambers. Orval peacefully passed away on March 19, 2022 at age 96. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Chambers for 67 years. Loving father of Brenda Reeves (Kevin) and Rev. Gregory Chambers Sr. (Marcie). Cherished grandfather of Brandon Reeves (Kara), Derek Reeves (Lauren), Gregory Chambers Jr. (Debbie), Katie Turner (Nathan), and Jennifer Schwob (Kurt). Dearest grandfather of Kaydence Reeves, Zander Reeves, Evelyn Reeves, Jackson Reeves, Grant Reeves, Caedman Chambers, Enzo Chambers, Alaia Chambers, Avrille Turner, Henri Turner, Claire Turner, Amity Turner, Samantha Schwob, Brooke Schwob and Cameron Schwob. Loving brother of the late Ruth Holt and Daisy Kyte.

Orval and his family moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1928 for job opportunities. Orval attended Western High School in South west Detroit. During World War II he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a PHM and Dental technician until the war ended in 1945.Orval worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan for 32 years and retired in 1988.

In 1936 the Chambers family began attending Detroit First Church of the Nazarene and continued attending when the church moved to Northville and was renamed Hill Top Church of the Nazarene. Orval was a proud member of the congregation for 86 years. Orval will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
