Born on May 25, 1952, in Pontiac, Paul was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Audrey Buono, with whom his family takes comfort in believing he is now reunited.
Paul lived with unmistakable energy. Loud, fearless, intelligent, and naturally entertaining, he possessed a larger-than-life personality that filled every room he entered. He loved motorcycles, laughter, and rock ’n’ roll—and believed music should be played loud.
Music was central to Paul’s life. A professional bassist in his younger years, he was also gifted on upright bass, guitar, and piano. He was an accomplished gymnast in his youth, excelled academically, and earned degrees in hotel and restaurant management. He later became a high-pressure boiler engineer and worked for approximately 20 years at two of Detroit’s most historic buildings, the Masonic Temple and Fisher Theatre.
Paul is survived by his only son, Robert Buono and his wife, Brittany; his grandchildren; Jayden, Hazel, and Vivian; his sister, Lisa Pritula; his brother, Dennis Buono, and other relatives and friends who will remember his unforgettable personality and spirit.
His family takes comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended, his mind is clear, his body is strong, and the music is loud once again.
