

A caring, driven person Peter devoted his life to children. After earning his Master’s Degree in Education he began teaching in the LA School District and eventually became a principal as well.
A devout catholic, Peter has always been involved in his local parish. While living in California he was the Parish Choir director for over 30 years and continued to add his tenor vocal to the St. Michael choir after moving to Michigan. A fixture at St. Michael’s fish fry’s all the children at the school knew him well. He was also actively involved in the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree Knight and even earned the honor of being named the 2013-2014 Knight of the Year.
Peter is survived by his cherished wife Marjorie Ostroski. Dear sister Terri (Steve) Hinton, brothers Frank (Connie) and Paul (Betty). He was a beloved uncle to Chad, Geoffrey, Andrew, Melissa and Nick. A loving compassionate man Peter was beloved and welcomed by Marjorie’s daughter Linda Gambino and grandchildren Lindsay, Michael and Kelly Gambino.
Peter’s family will receive friends on Friday October 24, 2014 from 3-8 pm with a Knights of Columbus Service, 7 pm at the Harry j. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
He will lie in state on Saturday October 25, 2014 from 10 am until the time of his Funeral Mass, 10:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 11441 Hubbard Rd. (at Plymouth Rd) in Livonia.
