Phillip Michael Nader, 91, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Philip was born in Highland Park, Michigan on September 5, 1928. He was a graduate of Wayne State University and worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Chrysler for 29 years.
In retirement, Phillip and his wife enjoyed owning and operating a party store with their daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Keith. According to Carol, the party store’s success is a direct result of Phillip’s passion to service our customers. Phillip was also an avid football fan. His son Michael said “…the NFL has lost its biggest fan”. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Nader is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen (Snage); daughter, Carol (Keith) Gawronski; son, Michael (Susan) Nader; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Clark, Benjamin Gawronski, Christine (T.J.) Groner and Thomas Nader; great-grandchildren, Christian Sanchez, Vanessa Clark and Caroline Groner; brothers, Alexander (Margo) Nader and Robert (Barbara) Nader. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Due to the current public health situation, a private service for immediate family only will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Basilica of St. Mary Antiochian Church. Private burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit.
