Phyllis Jean Wanniger of Canton, MI passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born on July 18,1930 in Detroit, MI, where she grew up on Robson St on the city’s West side with her parents, Henry Wanniger and Mamie (Vierk) Wanniger along with her brother Melvin Wanniger and sister Joann (Wanniger) Wittkopp.
She worked as telephone operator at Ford Motor Company for over 42 years. She was actively involved in the Lutheran church, loved spending time with her extended family, and enjoyed counter-cross stitch and puzzles.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her nieces Linda Fuller and Diane Standiford and her nephews Robert Wanniger, Scott Wittkopp, and Keith Wittkopp along with their spouses and children.
A committal service for Phyllis will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 Eight Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
