

Ralph Frederick Schwedt, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 under the compassionate care of Angela Hospice. He was born on October 27, 1932, in Detroit to his loving parents, Lester and Irene Schwedt.
Ralph was the beloved husband of Delores Schwedt for 65 years and a devoted father to Teresa (Tom) Brown, Richard Schwedt, Christina (Charles) Scoggins, Carolyn (Liem) Schwedt, and Eric (Shannon) Schwedt. He was the cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy and pride. Ralph will be missed by his brother, David Schwedt and sister, Elizabeth Titus.
A proud graduate of Cooley High School, Ralph went on to faithfully serve his country in the United States Navy for four years, followed by several more on the Reserves. Following his military service, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. Ralph dedicated many years of hard work and commitment to Ford Motor Company until his retirement.
Ralph was a longtime parishioner of St. Edith Catholic Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life. He enjoyed spending time golfing with his buddies and could often be found enjoying a burger and beer at Sheehan’s.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Edith Catholic Church on Monday, June 1st. He will be in-state from 10:00-11:00am, with the mass following at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice in Ralph’s memory.
