He was born December 16, 1929 in the town of Soutelo de Montes, Pontevedra, Spain. He came to the United States via Ellis Island in 1932 with his mother Leonor (Vieitez) Bouzas to join his father, Felix, who had already immigrated. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and spent the majority of his working career as a designer for the automotive industry in Detroit.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Isabel (Fernandez), sons, Brian (Marybeth), Kevin (Karen), and Laurence (Traci), as well as seven grandchildren, Christopher (Katherine), Nicholas (Megan), and Zachary (Paige) Atwood; Bianca, Zachary, Alix, and Justin Bouzas, and great-grandson Maverick Atwood along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Rose and stepmother Beatrice.
Ramiro greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and was frequently caught with his signature camera in hand trying to capture those special moments. An avid do-it-yourselfer, Ramiro is almost certainly now helping St. Peter with improvements to the Pearly Gates.
Ramiro will be laid to rest during a private ceremony with military honors at Grandlawn Cemetery.
