Richard Henry Kieffer, 87, of Westland, Michigan, passed away on April 26, 2019. Richard was born on March 11, 1932 to Erwin G. & Myrtle (nee: Gruenwald) Kieffer in Dearborn. After graduation from Lutheran High School in Detroit, Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent his career as an Telephone Repairman/Installer with Michigan Bell Telephone Company (A.T.& T.).
Richard was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved gardening and being outdoors. He was a faithful man and was devoted to his church, Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Mr. Kieffer is survived by his loving daughters, Sherrie M. (Imrich) Milkovic and Sandy Owens; grandchildren, Joseph Milkovic, Jennifer (Lee) Brees and Kayla Owens; great-grandchildren, Kylee O’Brien, Grace and Andrew Brees; sister, Nancy O’Berst and brother George (Beverly) Kieffer. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia on Wednesday May 1, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and the following morning at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church 14175 Farmington Road, Livonia from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Glen Eden Cemetery will be at 2:30 p.m.
Memorial donations in Mr. Kieffer’s name may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
