

Robert "Bob" William Gannon Jr. was born on March 7, 1944 at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was the eldest son of the late Robert Sr. and Helen Gannon. Robert was born into a large family. He was the fourth of nine children and one of 54 grandchildren.
Robert was raised in Detroit and graduated from Cooley High School in 1963. On July 24, 1963 Bob enlisted in the US Navy eventually earning the rank of E-4 before being honorable discharged on July 21, 1967.
Following his service to his country Robert returned to Metro Detroit and eventually began working at Motor Wheel in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He worked faithfully for them for 27 years before they moved and he decided to retire. However, Bob could not stay idle for long and began working at various car dealerships in the area, mainly with Lafontaine.
A fun loving, outdoorsman Bob was a lifetime member of the NRA and an active member of the Western Wayne County Conservation Association.
On May 6, 2016 Bob passed away suddenly at St. Mary Hospital in Livonia, Michigan he was 72 years old.
Robert was the loving father of Brian. Dear brother of the late Joanne Cyers, the late Sharon Maycock, Maureen Gannon-Seratti, Kathryn (William) Gannon-Paden, Mary (Antonio) Gannon-Tullio, Theresa Gannon-Cyr, Denise (Bill) Gannon-Taylor and John "Jack" (Melinda) Gannon. Bob is also survived by his honorary granddaughter Austin Ott, 14 nieces and nephews and many loving cousins, extended family members and friends.
Bob's family will receive friends on Monday May 9, 2016 from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday May 10, 2016 from 10 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11 am at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia, Michigan.
