Robert L. "Bob" Glise, 94, passed away May 5, 2021. Bob was the fifth of six children born to Harry F. & Florence L. (nee: Yeager) Glise, in Detroit, Michigan on October 26, 1926. Bob was a 1944 graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan. After graduation, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army serving honorably during WW II. He was stationed in Hawaii and received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. After his return from the Pacific Theater, he married Betty (nee: Brooks) on April 14, 1951, at First Church of the Nazarene in Detroit. They had 4 children together. Bob delivered bread and baked goods for Taystee Bread, retiring in 1986 after 40 years of employment. An integral part of Bob's life that he shared with his family was his deep relationship and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. One of the ways he expressed his love for the Lord, was by faithfully serving in the same church for 94 years. He loved music, had a beautiful voice, singing in his High School Choir along with his church choir for over 50 years. He loved baseball, playing well into his fifties, and bowled on the church league for several years. One of his greatest loves was the outdoors, whether it be hiking, boating, swimming, or feeding the dozens of birds that visited his feeders daily! He loved to travel all across the United States with his family, and his "Tenacious 10" group of friends. But most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife and his entire family. They were all his most cherished treasures.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Debbie (Bill) Ward, Tammy (Stu) Boice, and Bob (Paula) Glise; grandchildren, Ember (John) Ferrantino, Kyle Ward, Casey Ward, Taylor (Heather) Boice, Spenser Boice, Parker (Rachel) Boice, Hannah Glise, Stefani Glise, and Nathan Glise; great-grandchildren, Sophia Ferrantino, and Paris Boice.
