Bob was the beloved husband of Theresa Krauter for 71 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another. He was the loving father of Michelle (John) Valuet, Deborah (Mike) Kanowski, and Keith (Betty) Krauter. He was a proud grandfather to Alex Krauter and Amanda (Jayce) Meredith, and a cherished great-grandfather to Brooks Meredith. Bob was the dear brother of Barbara Joabar and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Irene Krauter, and his sister, Joan Kelly.
A man of faith, Bob was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church for many years. He dedicated 45 years of his career to Ford Motor Company as an engineer, where his strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities served him well. He was also the owner and operator of B&K Marine, where he combined his knowledge and passion for repairing boat engines.
Bob was rarely one to sit still. Whether he was tackling carpentry projects, fixing things around the house, or dreaming up his next project, he always kept busy. His family often joked that not every project was finished, but his enthusiasm for starting them never faded.
He was an active member of the Multi-Lakes Sportsman Club, where he served as a range officer and generously volunteered his time at countless fundraising events. He was also a longtime member of the National Rifle Association.
Bob especially looked forward to the annual trips he and Theresa took to Florida. Each year, he would make the drive himself, and those weeks spent together became some of their most treasured traditions. His independence, energy, and determination remained with him well into his late 80s.
His greatest pride was the home and property he loved at Black Lake. There, he found joy working in his barn, spending time outdoors, and caring for the place that meant so much to him. Full of energy and always on the move, Bob earned the affectionate nickname "Bouncing Bob," a name proudly displayed on his boat and one that perfectly captured his spirited nature. Friends and family often compared him to the Energizer Bunny because he never seemed to slow down.
Above all else, Bob loved his family. He treasured every moment spent with those he loved and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments. His steady presence, generous heart, tireless energy, and unwavering devotion to his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Funeral Visitation will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 Eight Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., followed by the Committal Service at 11:45 a.m.
Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
