Robert was born in Lacrosse, WI in 1942 to Harvey and Phyllis Norman. His humble upbringing taught Robert to work hard and wisely from an early age. He held a job at the local bakery to work his.way through college to receive his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin Madison in 1967. Robert met his future wife, Linnea, at the University of Wisconsin where they were both students.
Robert and Linnea married in 1967 and started their life together here in Westland, Ml. Robert began working at Ford Motor Company in 1967 in Operations Research. He was deeply dedicated to his work and very loyal to Ford Motor Company. In 2002, after 35 years, he retired from Ford as Systems and Operations Manager.
Robert was a loyal and compassionate man who was always there for his friends and family. He had an ability to uplift and encourage all of us when we needed him. His perseverance and ingenuity never made a challenge too big. We loved his smile, his humor, and admired his strength. He enjoyed sports and especially his beloved Wisconsin Badgers. He also loved model railroading and fishing. He spent many summers up north at the family cottage fishing tirelessly for that "Big Bass". And when he finally caught that Bass, the excitement in his eyes and smile on his face was remarkable. We will miss Robert as a Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother and Friend.
