Roger Joseph Schembri

Roger Joseph Schembri was born November 27, 1938, the son of Roger and Lena Schembri. He worked for the Ford Motor Company and retired after 40 years of service. He wass a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served from 1956 to 1960.

He was preceded in death by his sister and is survived by his wife of 28 years, Josephine. He is also survived by his three beloved daughters Kimberly Bedigian (Derek Fisher), Lynn (Chris) Bissell and Jennifer Bedigian. He is the cherished grandfather of Ashton and Skylar.

Roger was a happy, funny generous man who was always making new friends. He kept his friends and family laughing by telling jokes and singing. He loved being outdoors, especially gardening his begonias, riding his bike or even a motorcycle when he was younger.

Friends may visit Roger's family on Wednesday June 22, 2011 from 5-8 pm and Thursday June 23, 2011 from 1-8 pm. During the visitation on Thursday, there will be a Scripture Service prayed in his memory at 7:30 pm. The funeral home is located at 37000 W. Six Mile in Livonia, Michigan 48152 and is on the north side of Six Mile, east of I-275 and Newburgh road.

Funeral services for Roger will be Friday June 24, 2011 at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152. He will lie in state at the church from 9 am until his funeral Mass at 9:30 am. The church is located on the east side of Farmington Road and north of Six Mile Road.

Roger will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
