It was a pleasure to work with Russ. As part of my team in the Division, he could always be counted on to lead his area and be a stellar example as a model Toastmaster. You will be fondly remembered, Russ!

I was quite fond of Russ, a man of great stature. He always greeted me with warmth, kindness and a friendly smile. You could tell he really enjoyed his involvement with Toastmasters.
Dear Sharlene and family members: When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange!
May all of your memories bring a smile to your faces, over and over and over.
With warmest regards,
Ivory D. Williams

Russ was a Toastmasters' Toastmaster...a man's man and my friend. You can't think of Russ without smiling...

Russ and I go back several years in Toastmasters. We pulled each other out of warm water before it got too hot. I especially remember the time that he volunteered me to be Area Governor of Area 17. I helped him out with his Division contests several times; he helped me out with my area contests.
I have just too many memories of Russ to post here.
My condolences to the family.

We had the privilege of getting to know Russ as part of the Coast Guard Cutter Woodbine Reunion Group. For the last 25 years, we would gather for nearly a week each August in Grand Haven, MI for the Coast Guard Festival and our Woodbine Reunion. We were a family and both Russ and Sharlene were a big part of it. Russ served in various leadership roles in our group and led as our Chairman for several years.
Russ, you will be dearly and greatly missed by all of us but you have now docked in your "home port." We celebrate both your life and your Christian witness! But you have now sailed across the sea to your Heavenly Home.
Until we meet again, Semper Paratus. God Bless.

Russ and I served as Toastmaster Area Governors together. Since we live close by, we often rode together to the District Council meetings in Monroe. Russ had so much energy, I thought he was about 10 years younger. I'll always remember the test speech he gave for our Area Evaluation contest in which he spoke about getting down on his knees and praying.
