Ruth Lorena Merucci passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 99, with her family by her side. Mother of Pam (Mark) Scheib, Bonnie, Ben, and Chuck (Liz). Dear “memom” to her grandchildren, Jacki and Joe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie.
Ruth was a beloved aunt and friend to many. She had four children, but many more called her “mom”.
She was always interested, encouraging and involved in her kid’s activities (and that continued even as her kids became adults). They always felt her unwavering love and support. She enjoyed playing Rumikube and card games and working on jigsaw puzzles with Bonnie. She was always up for a trip to the casino or anything fun!
Ruth will be remembered for her quick wit, positive spirit, and her willingness to always help others.
Visitation will be at Harry J. Will Funeral Home (37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, 48152) on Monday, May 11th, from 2pm to 8pm with a memorial service at 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory to University Home Hospice LLC (11585 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48150) would be greatly appreciated. Ruth was a Hospice volunteer many years ago, and things came full circle as she received excellent Hospice care the last couple months of her life.
