Sam Mininni, 98 passed away peacefully on February 20th. He was a Livonia Resident for 22 years and Dearborn resident for 56 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 78 years. Sam was the proud father of Joanne Tylutri, Rosemary (Adam) Mitchell, Eugene Mininni and Laura (Jim) Adkins. Cherished grandfather of Suzanne (Mike), Lisa (Ed), Jeff (Shannon), Kimberly (Robert), David (Kim), Paul, Jason, Christopher (Danielle) Jeffrey, Vincent and Angela. Loving great grandfather of Jared, Kayla, Nina, Marco, Anthony, Emily, Justin and Reagan.
Sam was born in Bari, Italy. He came to the USA when he was 15 years old. He became an American citizen and served in World War II as a mess Sargent. He worked at Ford Motor Company and then drove a bus and truck for over 40 years. Sam's favorite pass time was golf, where he rangered at Idlewild Golf Corse in Livonia for many years. The gold course was almost his second home. Even after he stopped rangering he loved just going there sitting in a cart talking to all the golfers. He was not only loved by all his family but all who met him because of his wonderful sense of humor and story telling. He loved being the center of attention telling his stories and jokes especially when he got a few laughs. He was definitely an entertainer.
His grandchildren and great grandchildren loved their "Papa", he deeply loved all of them.
His passing will not only leave an empty place in his family's hearts but he will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure meeting and interacting with.
Rest in peace, our dear husband, father and "Papa".
