Samuel Dale Vinch Jr, born January 20, 1947, passed away August 23, 2019 at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Rose Vinch and his brother Angelo Vinch, Sr. He is survived by his daughter Tearina Young; grandchildren Gabriel Young and Trisha Hurt; sister Mary Jane (Michael) Curle; goddaughter and niece Sarah (Jeremiah) Jordan; niece Kristin (Robert) Houchins; nephews Angelo (Jennifer) Vinch Jr, Michael (Kimberly) Curle. Sam attended St. Raymond’s for grade school and St. Anthony’s High School in Detroit, MI. He was a proud graduate of Eastern Michigan University where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. This lead to his very fulfilling career designing automobile molds and parts. His hobbies were skiing (he lived in Aspen, CO for a few years), golfing and attending as many University of Michigan football games as he could. He enjoyed exploring his Italian heritage, he and his father traveled to Italy several times. Family was very important to Sam, he never missed a sporting event, theater show or ice skating competition of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved to talk about his beloved family to his friends and colleagues.
Sam had a passion for his work, many of his designs can be seen in some automobiles today. He started and owned a successful business, Datum Point, Inc. Well respected in his field, he decided to keep working past the age at which most people retire. Sam had many life long friends who loved to get together often and reminisce. He had a love for story telling and an infectious laugh, a laugh that those close to him will remember fondly. Sam will be forever and greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

Growing up I spent half of my life at my God parents, Sam & Rose Vinch’s home. Sammy was like a big brother to me. All of our holidays and birthdays were spent together and my wonderful memories of him run deep and with much much love and affection . He leaves a hole in the world that will never be filled.
Rest In Peace dear cousin.
