On June 22, 1968, she married the love of her life, Bob, and together they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years together. Sara devoted many years of her life working as a bank teller before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Sara embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She loved spending time at the beach and living in Bonita Springs, Florida. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling with her girlfriends on Mondays, bocce ball, and playing cards. Sara also had a fondness for purses and loved shopping. A devoted sports fan, she especially enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings. Through her children’s involvement in sports, she became especially fond of softball and hockey and faithfully attended all her children’s sporting events, always offering encouragement and support.
Most of all, Sara cherished her family and the many dogs she lovingly cared for throughout the years. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Bob DesAutel; her children, Scott (Courtney) DesAutel and Becky (Scott) Sullivan; her grandchildren, Justin Moore and Piper DesAutel; her brother, Paul Sanders; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Susan Sanders, and her sister, Marie Reitzloff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dog Aide.
