Sean Scott Pennington

July 13, 1988May 30, 2020

Sean S. Pennington, born July 13, 1988 and passed away on May 30, 2020

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Esther Meadows. Survived by his loving parents, Scott and Deborah Pennington and adoring sister, Dana Pennington, grandparents Lawrence and Ruth Pennington, Aunts and Uncles Linda Meadows, Carol Peretto (Chris), Pamela Folkert (Matt), Lawrence, Jr. (Regina), Karel (Rick), Derek (Karen), cousins Kyle & Brandon, Kristen (Brandon), Ian (Jenny), Jennifer (Donny), Jacqueline, Rob, Kristina and Dylan, Jessica and Lauren, and several 2nd cousins.

Sean’s favorite hobby by far was waterfowl hunting with his dad and family pets Ruger and Reo, his Uncle Lawrence, newcomer cousin Jacqueline and numerous friends. He was a prolific reader and especially enjoyed WWII history and autobiographies. He was a fierce competitor, most recently at disc golf as can be attested to by his friends. His intelligence allowed him to absorb information like a sponge and he had a knack for reciting extensive detail on any given subject.

Sean had a great sense of humor, loved family and friends but his greatest attribute was his kindness. Many comments made of him through the years were, “If I had a son, I would want him to be like Sean”, “good heart”, “kind soul” and “like a son to me”.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2pm. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Livonia. Immediately following the service, all guests are invited to the family's home for an open house until 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either Ducks Unlimited or Milford Counseling Help Fund.

Wish I could have made it to the memorial. Sean was my first boyfriend, as much as that counts in 8th grade... we remained friends all through high school. I remember we had a funny "yellow dinner" at his parent's one night where every item somehow ended up being yellow/white. I remember him sitting behind me in Mr. Coat's class. I remember him being frustrated with Hanlu and I when we asked when he was going to duck season..."you don't go there! It just IS" ...it was all in good fun. I liked seeing his more recent Facebook posts about his dog, as a dog lover myself. I also appreciated his more conservative posts... not too many people our age openly admit to being conservative though I suspect there are many more out there.... I wish I had reached out in recent years. I was extremely sad to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones. --Kori

I met Sean in elementary school and we graduated high school together. I will fondly remember playing soccer at recess and a fun class trip to Chicago. Sean was a great classmate and friend.

Wishing you peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

Scott, Debbie, Dana- We are so sorry for your loss. I recall that our families crossed paths at a restaurant a number of years ago. Sean was just a smiling lanky teenager. That’s how we will remember him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. -Nancy & Steve Conley

I loved Sean Pennington, He was a big man with an equally big heart. He was kind, compassionate, intelligent, and very polite. He took interest in everything you had interest in and he was always showing you the things he was interested in with such enthusiasm.
Sean has the most loving parents and I love them equally as much. My prayers are always with the Pennington family!
Oh, I almost forgot, Sean was a hell of a shot, much better than his father!
RIP Sean!!!!!!!!

Sean was a big teddy bear. He was a part of the boy cousin pack. He was always smiling and laughing at our family events, whether it was killing the kickball during the family games at Grandma's park, or advising on what gift was best during the gift exchange. Thankfully, the summer vacations with our big family has left many of us with fond memories, from Virginia Beach to Wisconsin to Luddington. Sean had such a kind heart and fun spirit. I hope you knew how loved you were Sean, and I will see you again someday. ♥️
