Our most beloved Shana Marie (Munger) DeGroff, of Northville, MI, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, February 28, 2026, leaving a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
Born to Harry and Darlah Munger on February 24, 1971, in Royal Oak, MI, Shana graduated from Marian High School in 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in April of 1993, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Shana dedicated 32 years to her career at Quigley Industries as a Master Scheduler in Farmington Hills, MI, and most recently, at Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville, NC. Shana was an extremely loyal and tireless worker, always going above and beyond for the betterment of her company.
She was the devoted wife of Ross DeGroff for 28 blessed years. Together, they reared two beautiful children, Madeleine Elyse (28) and Mitchell Ross (24). As the heartbeat of their home, Shana had her fingerprints and pulse on every aspect of her household. She guided schedules, lunches, football, lacrosse, cheer practices, games, tournaments, and banquets. When she wasn’t directly involved, she made sure to leave an abundance of notes to help guide the rest of her family along the way. She was fiercely loyal to her family, friends, and colleagues. She was the family protector. She was both a source of wisdom and the ultimate cheerleader for her children. She was the consummate “football wife” while Ross spent years as a youth and high school football coach.
Shana’s hobbies included reading, walking – a lot of walking, and animals. Shana loved animals, especially her own – including Bandit, Sasha, her beloved Lola Grace, Franco, and her most recent/favorite Theodore (Teddy). Shana volunteered at the Humane Society and was the food source for several stray cats at her plant and in her backyard.
She lived her life with a single mantra – “No Regrets." She encouraged her children to take risks and to live outside their comfort zone. She preached that you only have one life to live, so be sure to make the most of your God-given talents while enjoying life to its fullest. Shana is survived by her husband Ross, her daughter Madeleine, her son Mitchell, her parents, Harry and Darlah Munger, her dog Teddy, and her cat Franco. Shana leaves behind a legacy of fierce loyalty, pride, and endless love for her family. Her strength will carry on in our family for the remainder of our days. Rest in peace, Shana. You are deeply missed.
