

Shirley Mae Weaver was born on January 22, 1926 in Corunna, Michigan. She was the third child and only girl of the late John James and Beatrice Genevieve McKay. Shirley passed away on June 8, 2016 in Sarasota, Florida at the age of 90.
An avid sports fan, Shirley enjoyed watching golf, especially if Phil Nicholson was playing. She was also a huge Red Wings Fan, with The Captain, Steve Yzerman being her favorite player. In fact, she had the opportunity to see Steve Yzerman and get an autograph from him, which she had framed and kept in her home. Shirley was also a very talent seamstress. She sewed and crocheted beautiful pieces.
Shirley was the loving wife of the late Melvin. Beloved mother of Dennis G. (Marie) Weaver, Randy (Pam) Weaver and Melanie (Alan) Howard. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Kimberly, Randy, Tya, Heidi, Dennis M., Hillary and Genevieve and great-grandmother of several. She was the dear sister of the late Robert McKay, the late John McKay, Kenneth McKay and the late Dean McKay.
Shirley's family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday June 12, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia. Her life will be celebrated with a Funeral Service on Monday June 13, 2016 at 11 am at the funeral home.
Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband Melvin at Oakland Hills Memorial Cemetery in Novi, Michigan.
