Steve McArthur

Steven Francis McArthur was born on August 12, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to his parents, George and Evelyn. Steve passed away on May 8, 2023. Beloved husband of Barbara for 47 years. Loving father of Ryan (Jennifer), and Alan (Shayna). Cherished grandpa of Mallory, Caleb and Brayden. Dearest brother of David (Christine) and William (Jeanette). Loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Steve received his PhD in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine in 1990. He was engaged in the practice of Clinical Psychology at several hospitals for a total of 38 years. Steve retired in 2016 from the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. At the VAMC, he practiced Behavioral Sleep Medicine and Chronic Pain Management, and trained psychology interns and fellows, as well as sleep medicine fellows. Steve enjoyed landscape photography. He had a part-time photography business and sold his work around the U.S. He enjoyed camping, golf and archery and shared the love of the game with his grandkids. His family was a big part of his life and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation, Monday May 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home: 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48152. Funeral mass, Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 9:30 AM (in state 9:00 AM) at St. Aidan Catholic Church: 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48152.
