

Val Louis Halatsis was born on October 6, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to the late George and Dolores Halatsis. He passed away peacefully in his Livonia, Michigan home on February 1, 2021 at the age of 63.
Louie was beloved brother of Dimitri "Tocki" (his wife Constance) Halatsis, and Jill "Jillis" (her husband Bryan) Halatsis-Winkel; loving uncle of Mark (his wife Kristin) Swieczkowski, Jill (her husband Greg) Vaquera, Dr. Andrea Winkel, Nick (his wife Malory) Halatisis and Brett Louis Winkel. Nephew of Frieda (the late Pete) Sarri and second cousin George (Barbara) Tecos. Also, several cousins that were all special to him: Pat (Sabrina) Nael, Cheryl (the late Michael) Nael, Dora Sarri, Polina Sarri, Pete (Olga) Tecos and William (Gina) Tecos.
Louie followed in his father's footsteps and had a successful career as a professional server in the bar and restaurant industry throughout the country. Back in the 70’s, Louie’s love of music and gathering’s, he became "ECSTASY" a top notch storm of the disco era. Known as "Disco Louie" he quickly had the reputation as having the best of the best disco parties around! Louie had a zest of travel, wild life and the outdoors, however, his true passion was his organic heirloom tomato garden. He was famous for “Louie’s Crazy Caprese”...made fresh from his prized Earth. Chefs from all around waited patiently for harvest time!
Along with his bigger than life heart, he had a gentle demeanor and quick sense of humor. He will be terribly missed. Louie will be laid to rest by his parents in Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan.
