

Wayne Edward Steinke was born on May 27, 1950 in Detroit Michigan to Walter Steinke and Florence Doss.
In 1969 Wayne graduated from Plymouth High School and continued on to Schoolcraft College where he studied Culinary Arts. Upon graduation Wayne moved to Denver and worked as a chef. He later returned to metro Detroit and continued working as a chef at several area restaurants including the Playboy Club, Boars Head, Owosso Country Club and the Detroit Yacht Club.
On May 21, 1988 Wayne married his beloved wife, Nancy Rohrbeck at St. John’s Church in Frasier. They celebrated 23 wonderful years of marriage.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Nancy Steinke, brother Kenneth Steinke, mother in law Gertrude Rohrbeck, brother in law Ronald (Marilou) Rohrbeck, nephews Brian Ward, Gerald Ward, Michael Steinke, Ronnie Rohrbeck, niece Laura Whittlesey, three great nieces and 1 great nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Florence Steinke, sister June Ward, sister in law Claudia Steinke and brother in law Jack Ward.
Wayne’s Family will receive friends on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 3-9 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia.
He will lie in state on Wednesday February 1, 2012 from 10 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11 am at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia.
Wayne's family suggests memorial donations be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church where he has been a member for over 14 years.
