William A. "Bill" Orlando

He was the beloved husband of Evelyn M. Orlando. Loving father of Andrew W. (Liane) Orlando of San Francisco, California and Amy (Mauro) Petrucci of Novi, Michigan. Dear Grandfather of Nicolas W. Petrucci, Christina M. Petrucci, Dominic M. Orlando and Jack M. Orlando. Dearest brother of Annette (Jack) Armstrong of Livonia, Michigan, Alfred (Josie) Orlando of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Raymond (Joann) Orlando of Brighton, Michigan.

Predeceased by his parents, William "Paul" (1982) and Olga (Sept 2010) Orlando and his sisters, Eleanor Koja (Feb 2011) and Delores Bell (April 2007).

Bill was born and raised in Detroit graduating from Cooley High School. Following high school, Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. During which he earned the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Bill settled in to a successful career of 44 years as a General Motors Executive during which he met his bride of 54 years and had two beautiful children. He began a happy retirement in November of 1992.

Since retirement, Bill has enjoyed sailing, golf, tennis, gardening and cooking/baking and becoming an Elder at Ward Presbyterian Church in Northville, Michigan where he and Evelyn have been long time members.

William will be In-State at the church for a short viewing beginning at 10:30am on Tuesday morning.

Bill will be laid to rest in the Great Lakes National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 12:30pm. Those who would like to attend the interment, please meet the family at the administration building sharply at Noon.
